1 year blog anniversary: inspired by my mom..:)

Happy 1 year anniversary to my blog
"FROM BEACH TO BURBS"!!
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my followers and fellow bloggers who have inspired and supported me and my blog this past year.  Although I don't have the amount of followers that many have after a year of blogging, I feel that I have learned and accomplished all that I set out to do 1 year ago!....My mom would have loved that I'm blogging about my love for thrifty, cottage home decor.  She was my original inspiration.  We enjoyed many weekends hitting the tag sales and small cottage boutiques as well as hunting through the shelves at TJ Maxx & Marshalls.....My mom was painting furniture way before it was the "thing" to do.  I remember years ago when she painted her formica countertops and I thought she was CRAZY!!...lol...Unfortunately, I lost my mom 3 1/2 years ago. In celebration of a year under my belt,  I am posting a few pictures of items in my home that remind me of my mom and times we spent sharing our love for cottage decor...Love & miss you dearly mom...this post is for you!!

My mom gave me this iron vase at least 10 years ago for a birthday present...to this day, one of my favorite gifts and things in my home.

We both LOVED hydrangeas!

This was in mom's home.  I fill it with different items depending on the season...

We both shared a love of iron and birds....

Mom's pitcher that I incorporated into my bathroom design.

Her crystal vase...I LOVE glass and am sure it is because of my mom...

Here is a pencil sketch that my friends daughter made for me of the iron vase in the first photo.

I framed it and LOVE it!

I recently added new dried hydrangeas from my tree.....I never tire of them.

I am looking forward to another year of blogging with inspiration, new friends and knowledge!
