I STARTED DOING THESE WHILE RECOVERING (AND BORED OUT OF MY MIND) FROM FOOT SURGERY!!

Winter Mantle

Hi friends!!
Although I took the Christmas decorations down on New Years Day, I decided to keep the greens on the mantle and around the house until today...big clean up of DRIED UP pines, balsam & boxwood.
Once I was all cleaned up, I redecorated our mantle for winter....
I used some of my old favorites and added dried sage green hydrangeas from my tree, some pinecones of various sizes and a few new mercury glass pieces...still loving the mercury glass...:)
As I've mentioned before, it's a long mantle...
take a look

HAPPY WINTER!!

2012: MY FAVS FROM BEACH TO BURBS

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
HERE'S A QUICK LOOK BACK AT SOME OF MY FAVORITE POSTS OF 2012...LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER YEAR OF CREATING, BLOGGING, AND LEARNING FROM ALL OF YOU!!
WARNING:  LOTS OF PICS...FEEL FREE TO SCROLL THROUGH QUICKLY...LOL
We started the year enjoying our "new" kitchen.  We took on the HUGE project of painting our maple cabinets at the very end of 2011...we purchased new appliances & I added some new decor...If you are even considering this makeover in your own home, I would say DO IT!!!...I cannot tell you how much I've enjoyed our kitchen this year.....here's just a few pics from the "kitchen post"

My daughter's PINK party!!...It was so much fun making & baking all in the name of PINK!

My surprise Valentine's day present from my hubs...BRUUUUUCE!!!!!!

A scenic look at our "BURBS"

One of the many bucks we've seen in our backyard....

One of my tag sale framed mirrors...transformed into a coffee table tray with some paint...so easy to change up with the seasons...

my obsession with sea shells

AHHH....SPRING....:)

What we can do with what we have around the house and a beautiful color of spray paint...

Our pool shed...inspired by Country Living Magazine & built by my husband...
I LOVE it!

Queen Anne's Lace...clipped in a field down the shore = SIMPLE BEAUTY

A very popular post....tag sale bedside table transformed with Annie Sloan paint

A painted candlestick, a little gorilla glue & mercury glass votives = one of my favorites...

our beloved beach....no words needed

Filling an empty wall corner at the beach house with a shelf purchased at an antique fair and some wonderful thrifty finds!

filling some empty wall space at the beach house...

can't ever get enough sunrise pics....I promise you will see many more during the summer of 2013

An antique oval frame, some jute and faux starfish turned into a simple project I adore...

Our beach house dining area...after 3 summers in this house, I finally got some texture in there with area rugs , window shades and decor!!...so happy with the way it turned out...

Inspired by a spread in Family Circle Magazine, I used an old window,a shelf with lovely iron brackets and filled the space above the bed in the MB of the beach house.

AUTUMN

Our latest project turned out to be so useful this holiday season...we hung shelving on the wall, skirted it with drop cloth, added some lovely trim & now hide all of our 7 year olds arts,  crafts & school supplies under there...I used the top as a bar while entertaining....such a practical and pretty use of the space.

And a little silver, gold, shimmer & sparkle to end the year.....

Here's to another year of creating, inspiring and being inspired!...Thank you for visiting & please come back often in 2013 to see what else we can accomplish!!
