College move in day & a feature!!!

Happy Saturday friends!!!....What a week....had to leave the beach house to bring my daughter to college, but then hubby had to head right back to batten down the hatches before the mandatory evacuation of the island that our house sits on....ugh!!!...I will fill you in on any damage after we are allowed to return....but, in the mean time, we brought our oldest to college yesterday....talk about bittersweet....we are so very proud of her and know that she is ready for this change...but oh how sad when you leave at the end of the day....especially when your 6 year old daughter is completely distraught!...for about 45 minutes of the car ride home.....heartbreaking!!!...

On a happy note, I came home to a find out that one of my posts was featured on:  Coastal Charm

I thought I would share some pics of the move in.....and some before and afters of her dorm room...still need a few things for the walls, but wow are those rooms small....

Not bad for a couple of hours and not knowing what we had to work with....
we will get a few more things for the walls...or she will hang up tacky posters now that she is on her own and won't get my opinion...haha

This weeks tag sale finds....

Happy weekend friends!!!

I had some of my best finds this week at tag sales....some weeks you go and come home with nothing...and then there are days like this....take a look.....

So many things I can think of to do with these cute little hobnail glasses...can you believe the price???

picked this sturdy basket up for only $4.00....I think that was a steal.....

I'm going to paint this pedestal up this week.... 

LOVE this galvanized pail....came complete with these hydrangeas...and you know how I love those..... 

I was so happy to get this two tiered wire fruit basket....not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but couldn't pass it up...

I think this will go in my 6 year old daughters room with some dried flowers....love the pale pink it is painted..

And then this......THE best find....an almost new Pottery Barn slipcovered kids chair!!!!...in pink too!!!...I have always wanted to get one of these for the older girls when they were little and now once again from my 6 year old, but could not bring myself to spend the almost $200 it would cost....well are you ready????.....I got it for $10.00!!!!!....yes, you heard me,,,,TEN DOLLARS!!!!!....hip, hip hooray!!!!!

It's in PERFECT shape and she is enjoying it!!!!

Antique Fair on the Island

Happy Tuesday friends!!

I wanted to share a few pics from one of my favorite places to visit while on the Island in August....

I have made many purchases over the years from this antique fair, from dressers to wire baskets....this time only an old open oval frame...I may bring it back to the "burb" house to make a chicken wire jewelry hanger...stay tuned...

Even if I walk away with no purchases, it is a joy to attend and look around....
