Simple hostess gift idea!!

I've been doing this for years and it applies to all seasons....instead of just bringing a bottle of wine to a friends home as a hostess gift, why not wrap it in a tea towel??......you can use different towels and embellishments for each season or time of year....a favorite fabric works great too!!

Here are just a few ideas for fall....

I used twine and burlap ribbon for these...

I chose raffia to wrap this bottle of red!!

The winter holidays are a great time to use this idea...so many options of what to wrap your bottles with....

Fall Mantel

Happy Thursday friends!!

I know everyone is sharing their fall mantels, but I never get tired of looking at them and I still get excited to change my own up each fall....every year I do it a little bit different....here is the 2011 version so far...sometimes I edit or add as the month goes by...we live in apple country, so as we visit the apple farms, I usually get inspired to add more "stuff"!!

$3 foot stool redo!!

Happy Tuesday friends!!....

I have been looking for a foot stool for as long as I can remember.  Well, I finally found one at a tag sale in the spring.  It was only $3 and in need of some serious LOVE....I just got around to working on it and I was not at all disappointed....It is just perfect....take a look....

3 layers of fabric on that musty smelling cushion....

I added new batting and my new fabric choice is.....DROPCLOTH!

fresh and clean

you know the drill:
spray painted it white (of course) and then used some antiquing glaze....

TADA!!!!!

Goes perfectly with my chair!!

Isn't she LOVELY?????

Simple, elegant, beautiful on the "cheap"!!

Happy Friday friends!!...We are now back at the "burb" house and while I should be organizing, I decided to work on some projects with items I purchased at tag sales this summer.....I'm loving how this OLD mirror turned out.....what do you think????

BEFORE:
Here are the before shots of a mirror I picked up at a tag sale last weekend down the shore for $2.00......I loved the lacy metal frame.... 

The finish was an old brass....

AND AFTER:
After taking the glass out, I painted the frame with white spray paint....

Don't you just love the lacy, floral pattern of the metal frame????

I'm using it as a tray....LOVE it....imagine what I can put on here for fall....

Remember these hobnail jars I showed you a few weeks back????....put some tea light candles in and TADA!!!!

This entire project/vignette cost $2.75 + spray paint...that I already had...
Simple beauty!!!
