Making the most of a small foyer!

Happy Wednesday friends!

I wanted to share with you how I made the most of our very small foyer...sometimes it's not how much space you have, but what you do with the space you do have...

We added the wainscoting soon after moving in 16 years ago...at the time, we wallpapered the top in a very bed & breakfasty type of pattern...a couple of years ago, I pulled the wallpaper down and painted it in what is one of my all time favorite colors!!
Welcome to our small but functional foyer...the entry slate floor is one of the only parts of this house that has remained since we moved in...It's is so practical!!

The shelf/coat rack:
One of my favorite vignettes in the house...and a great place to change up with each season/holiday...I found the frame at a great flea market, didn't need to do a thing to it!!

This pedestal was a gift from my sis n law years ago...love it!!

I found this storage bench complete with this cushion at a local discount store...it is the perfect size for the small space.....HOORAY!!!

Love the wainscoting...Thx to the hubby...it added so much character to an otherwise boring space.
Small, but welcoming...
I found this shallow entry cabinet at Ballard Designs...again perfect for this small space and a great place to store my extra candles..

And, if you have been following me, this old window redo is one of my all time favorite simple projects!!

Hope you enjoyed my small foyer tour...please know that you are always welcome!!

  3. Love it!!! Looks so cozy and inviting. I think I said this before but I have a similar antique window and everyone takes out the glass and replaces with mirrors and I did NOT want to do that. Not that is doesnt look good, I just didnt want to change the actual wondow that much. Anyways, love that window and I am SO going to do that. I will post when I do!! Cant wait to get started.

  14. I am visiting from Mod Vintage Life. I love your foyer, it does look so welcoming! Aren't slate floors the best? I had them in a bathroom in one of my homes, and fell in love with them. I am now a follower.
