FILLING IN THE BLANKS...

Happy Weekend friends!
As I've said before, we have been getting our decorating on (finally) at the beach house this summer...slowly but surely getting there, one wall at a time...Here's a look at our living room wall space.
BEFORE:  blank & boring

a little molding, a few pictures & plates...

I love the detail on these pictures...weathered taupe frames with linen matting!!

I picked this oval frame up at an antiques fair last summer...in keeping with the neutral theme, I decided to staple a piece of jute and tie some starfish to it...I like the simplicity of it.

A very small sampling of our never ending collection of sea shells...:)

Enjoy your weekend & thanks so much for stopping by!!

  3. I love what you did with the starfish and the frame! I hope you don't mind if I pin that to my Pinterest board! I have quite a lot of shells I've collected and am always looking for good "Beach" inspired idea's:)

  6. Looove the oval frame and starfish, such a creative use of beach finds! I have to share a tip for beach houses though--I love my beach, but I hate the sand everywhere! These linen towels are a must have. I find that sand clings to my cotton towels and gets EVERYWHERE! Linen actually repels dirt and sand because it's so smooth, but still dries super fast and is very absorbent. I use mine not only as a beach towel, but as a tablecloth when I eat outside so the sand doesn't get in my food.
