Home sweet beach home....and a question for you...

Hi friends....we are here at the beach portion of "from beach to burbs"......this is the view from our upper deck....I'm taking a few minutes to relax after a crazy but fun month of our oldest graduating from h.s., our youngest finishing kindergarten and the never ending final exams for our middle daughter....now the summer fun begins...I'm posting this from my phone, but hoping to order a laptop soon so you can all join me as I start decorating our beach house....thinking about the Apple MAC....or the Dell....does anyone blog from an iPad????.....I'd love to hear your thoughts......until I get one or the other, I'll be using this phone....ugh!!!.....happy Tuesday!!!

ATTENTION BLOGGERS!!!...A DREAMLAND for JUNK LOVERS & REFURBISHERS!!!!

As I was driving home from a kindergarten school trip last week, I passed THIS!!!!!!....so, I put on the brakes, and turned the car around!!!...OH MY!!!!....can you believe this?????....A junk lovers dream come true!!!.....Unfortunately the shop was closed, but the owner of this fabulous place was kind enough to let me walk around outside and take some photos to share with you all!!!.....I'll be going back to shop for sure..........ENJOY the pics....:).....

The owner told me that he started collecting bottles when he was 12 years old...and hence the name of his shop!

Our Beach House kitchen!!!

So, I'm back!!!....Boy has life been busy as of late....that and the fact that we have had major computer problems....Thanks so much to the ladies who responded to my last post!!!...you were SO helpful......anyway...we went down to our beach house over the Memorial Day weekend...(our family's official start to summer)...I plan on doing all of my blogging this summer on the BEACH portion of "from Beach to Burbs"....but, I wanted to give you a quick look at our kitchen...(I will show more detail soon) ....If you are new to my blog, you can go back and get some history on our beach house....Last summer was the first summer in the new house.  Although my husband and I worked hard planning every detail of rebuilding the beach house, I took special attention in planning the kitchen....I LOVE how it turned out and  hope you like it too....decorating to follow in the coming months.......



TADA!!!!....I LOVE this kitchen....It isn't huge, but turned out to be even more than I need....



My absolute, hands down favorite part of this room....my apron sink and fabulous faucet!!!!

This pantry is a close second in the fav department....I worked with the kitchen designer to come up with a solution to be able to fit the pantry in....I have one in the "Burb" house and couldn't imagine living without one at the beach....At home, I have a one piece pantry cabinet...in the beach house, I couldn't have the upper cabinet as deep as the bottom, so I came up with the idea to have it in two pieces and make it only a 12 inch depth on top....I added a drawer for storage that rolls out right on the counter........LOVE it....I put all of the cling wrap, tin foil, etc in there....cans and boxes fit perfectly on the top shelves of the pantry....

It took me about a year to finally decide to go with the Absolute Black granite....It was my first pick, but everyone said it would be so much work to maintain......I thought about it long and hard and in the end decided that I had to have it anyway!!!.....I knew going in that this kitchen would be higher maintenance than my kitchen at home, but I have had this look in my head for as long as I can remember for when we finally rebuilt the beach house......I'm glad I stuck to my original choices....I'm so happy with the way it turned out and I promise I'll shine it all up if you come over to visit...lol

I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!!!! PLEASE......

We have had such horrible computer problems in this house as of late!!!.....my hubby went out and bought a new desktop the other night and got it installed...(so as to not have to listen to my constant complaining about my blog withdrawal)....lol.....anyway, when I tried to get back on here this morning, all went well except for one thing!!!....when I try to leave a comment, it is coming up as anonymous even though I have signed into my google account properly....It shows me as signed in, but asks me to sign in again after I try to leave a comment....I keep on doing just that and it still brings me up as ANONYMOUS!!!!!!!!!!!....if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong....PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!.......I finally can blog again but CAN'T blog again....UGH!!!

Blog withdrawal!!!!!!

Hi friends....I am having blog withdrawal.........we were away last week and I was hoping to come back and share some beach house pics with you....instead, what I came back to was a broken computer..(not sure what happened)...UGH!!!!....so wanted to let you know that I'm still here and eager to get back to blogging...I'm using my daughter's little net book to get this out, but I don't have my photos on here to share....Hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend!!!!!.....and REALLY hope to be back up and running real soon!!!!!!!!!!!
